2 Nephi 31:20

Description

2 Nephi 31:20. I gave my first thought on this scripture last week :] I was pleasantly surprised too, I did pretty good, other than turning about five shades of red because I’m horrible at talks in front of more than three or four people.

In my seminary class, the steps (they can be out of order) for giving a thought are:
-Say the scripture reference
-Read the scripture
-Say why you like it
-Share an experience if you have one

Most people read the scripture, say “I like it and…I don’t have an experience.” I thought I’d do much the same, but I actually put a lot of thought into it :D

So, because I’m excited that I didn’t totally embarrass myself, this is how mine went:

“Open up to 2 Nephi 31:20.” I read the scripture and told them “I like this scripture because I see it as a promise of eternal life from our Heavenly Father if we follow His commandments. I’m going to ask you some questions, (I planned these out too ;))to just answer in your head: While reading the scriptures, when was the last time you felt hope? Did you repress it? Did you let it lift you? When was the last time you feasted on the words of Christ? When you read your scriptures last, did you read it with a blank mind--in one year, out the other?
“I know that if we stand tall, steadfast and immovable, being examples of the believers (1 Timothy 4:12), if we endure to the end, we will have eternal life. There was a line, from the thirteenth Article of Faith, that I was reminded of when I read this scripture ‘We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things.’ I think we all to a degree, have an experience with this scripture, a time when we’ve loved others, feasted on the words of Christ, and felt a hope. Again, I testify that if we follow God’s Commandments, we will have eternal life.

I say these things in the name of thy son, Jesus Christ, Amen.”

I think I did pretty good, I hope people understood the importance of my message.

It makes me sad to have to say this, but please no insults. If you don’t like it, is it so hard to just get off the page? Or comment on the composition of the photo, not the object of it. I posted this for people who would enjoy it, not for those who would only insult me for it.

By the way, not even sure if this is macro, I just didn't know what to put it under :]
